In English, the future tense is used specifically to express those activities or actions that will happen in future.

For Example

  • We will clean the house before the festival.
  • Her sister will be reaching here tomorrow morning.
  • I shall have concluded the article before Monday.

Types and Rules of Future Tense

The future tense has 4 types:

a) Future Indefinite Tense

Future Indefinite tense tells us about the activities that will happen in the future. Future Indefinite Tense is also known as Simple Future Tense. It is also used for conditional sentences.

b) Future Continuous

The future continuous tense is used to focus on those activities that will continue in the future for some time. We also know future continuous tense by other names such as Future Progressive Tense.

c) Future Perfect Tense

  • The future perfect tense states the activities will be completed within a specified time.
  • If two activities will happen in the future, and the first one is completed before the second activity, then also we have to use the future perfect tense.
